ATS Inland NW controls project at Eastern Washington University - CEB

The Computing and Engineering Building was built in 2005 and includes Thermal Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics labs as well as Cyber Security, Software, and Visual Communications. The Alerton building automation system is used for the Mechanical Engineering teaching lab in addition to controlling the building.

The JFK Library was built in 1968 and expanded in 1998. It has over 21 miles of shelving, and carries over a million books, periodicals and microfilm collections.

The existing Staefa control system was over 30 years old when replaced. The Alerton control upgrade included custom built plug in circuit boards that directly replaced the existing Staefa controllers leaving the conduit and wiring in place with minimal downtime for the library.

The new facility is composed of 50,000 square feet, including 11 laboratories devoted to cadaver dissection, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, microscopy, cell culture, wet labs, and nursing clinical and simulations. Additionally, the building includes a new science lecture hall, four classrooms, a vivarium (a display of living animals) and an advanced air handling system for biology and chemistry.

Boone Hall – Constructed in 1968, this building was named for Dr. William Judson Boone, founder and president of the college for 45 years. The building houses the Glen & Ruth Evans Gem and Mineral Collection, Orma J. Smith Museum of Natural History, and the Whittenberger Planetarium. Boone Hall is equipped with laboratories for chemistry, biology, geology and physics.

Columbia High School is the newest of Nampa’s three high schools, opening in the Fall of 2006.  They have access to modern technology in academic classrooms, a state-of-the-art auditorium and black box theater promoting of the performing arts, a spacious gymnasium, auxiliary gym, indoor walking track, and modern weight room facility all supporting physical education and our extra-curricular athletic programs.

The American Falls High School, housing grades nine through twelve, is the newest building in the district, with construction being completed in July of 2002. The high school is approximately 142,000 square feet. It is one of finest schools in the area, boasting 40 classrooms, huge media center, an 881 seat auditorium, a 1,477 seat gymnasium, all on an ADA compliant single floor.

The new 12, 500-square-foot center received LEED Gold certification for its many environmentally friendly components, including a ground source heat pump, natural daylighting, motorized windows for cross ventilation, and a thermal mass seismically stable rammed earth wall—the first use of rammed earth in a Wyoming educational center—as well as smart heat and light sensors with a system that automatically adapts thermal comfort to the building’s needs
